Soar USA at SIC
Race Report from Soar USA:
SOAR Racing USA headed to the Southern Indoor Championships for the first big race of 2018. The race had over 500 entries and even with the temps as low as the 20's, the racing was heated. With about 15 SOAR racers in attendance, there was a good amount of SOAR 998 TD1-R nitro, electric buggies and truggies entered. After a very long weekend of practice, qualifying, and mains between Friday-Sunday, the SOAR Team managed to put several vehicles in the A-mains.
First up was Chris Marrant in Pro Nitro Truggy. Marrant took the B-main victory and bumped to the 30 minute A-main and finished 14th.
Next was the 40+ Open Buggy A-main that saw Gene Hickerson qualify 3rd and finish 3rd after a close battle for 2nd going down to the very last lap.
Tim Garland in his 1st race with SOAR Racing put both his 998 buggies in the A-mains and finished 10th in 40+ Nitro Buggy and 11th in 40+ E-Buggy.
Midwest Team Manager Nate Johnston was up next and put his new 998T E-Truggy in 11th place in the A-main.
New comer to SOAR Racing, Chase Rhinerson, finished 6th in the open Truggy A-main with his 998T, and just missed the bump up in the Open Buggy B-main.
Joel Rios managed top put his 998E in 9th place in the Intermediate E-Buggy A-main.
